It’s Friday, and the weekend is almost here. It’s not too soon to be thinking about cocktails.

The November issue of Men’s Health Magazine offers some sippable substitutes for those of us who watch our figures.

Here’s one of my favorites: instead of a Gin & Tonic with 1.5 ounces of gin and 3.5 ounces of tonic, consider a Gin Rickey.

1.5 ounces of gin

.05 ounce of lime juice

club soda

You’ll save thirty-two calories and nine grams of sugar. (Gin & Tonic: 146 calories and nine grams of sugar. Gin Rickey: 114 calories and one gram of sugar.)
